Program Overview

Microtheater by We Art is an initiative within the We Art Nights program that brings short-form theater to unconventional venues across Miami. Each event features a series of short plays (10–20 minutes), performed in rotation, allowing audiences to experience multiple stories in a single evening.

This format breaks down the traditional barriers of theater by offering:

  • Proximity: Audiences enjoy intimate, up-close performances.
  • Flexibility: Each piece is brief and dynamic, ideal for new audiences.
  • Opportunity: Multiple artists can present work in a single night.
  • Community Connection: Performed in hotels, art galleries, rooftops, and cultural spaces.
The program supports emerging and established artists alike, offering them a professional space to experiment, express, and connect with audiences in a fresh, informal way.

Program Goals

  • Provide platforms for artistic experimentation in short-form storytelling.
  • Reach diverse and non-traditional audiences in casual, community-friendly settings.
  • Support collaborative production models across disciplines (theater, performance art, music, installation).
  • Contribute to cultural decentralization, taking theater beyond the stage into the city.
